It is the season of change...
After the exuberance and expanse of summer we will focus on instilling balance, creating a steady reserve of energy and strength to be ready for the winter months ahead.
During this course we will alternate between styles of Yang (Hatha) practice and Yin, to help you feel more calm, grounded, a quietly more strengthening practice as the nights draw in.
YIN practice will help us Restore, rest, turn inwards, stimulating the energy, or Chi, through the energy channels of the body by long held poses that put gentle pressure on them...We will concentrate on different areas of the body, to achieve maximum whole body stretch through various Yin Yoga postures.
Styles of Yoga: Hatha and Yin ( alternating weeks)
Each Yang Hatha practice will include:
Breathing techniques, Pranayama
A gentle warm up
We will emphasise the repetition in our practice of Sun/ Moon Salutations to re-energise the body and calm the mind.
The different pace of the poses will help you develop strength, balance and flexibility.
Cool down through gentle stretching.
All abilities welcome.
- FRIDAYS 7.30pm-9pm
- Yoga mats, blocks, bolsters, blankets, eye pillows available in the studio.
- Please Bring your own mat / blanket whenever possible.
